The eagle-eyed amongst you (that must be one of the two of you who read this) will notice that I’ve finally got round to redesigning the site. The reason for that being that we were using the default wordpress template and consequently looked just like 768,517(?) other websites!! I hope you like the new features such as the permanent Flickr slideshow to your right and the different locations that Frank, Dean and Sammy find themselves in at the top!

Also, I figured out how to post your Flickr photos from within Flickr - hence the recent photo posts. There are instructions for how to set up your Flickr account to do this on the “How To….” page. I know it seems a bit in-depth but I’ve broken it down as clearly as possible. You will need to be a member of this site and Flickr to do this but after a 10 minute setup it’s all fun and games!!!

Any questions? Just ask me (either in the comments or in person!!!)….

I’m not the only only to upload some photos to FlickR!!! I checked today and found that both Dave Ford and Chris Fidler have posted photos. Unfortunately they haven’t yet linked them to our group page so, in the meantime, you can check them out here.

Anybody else got any pics?

I’ve just updated the Tour Schedule with the new dates through to the end of the year. I’ll add 2006 as soon as we get any kind of confirmation!!

Right chaps, here it is. After much to-ing and fro-ing and requests to be able to get photos up, I’ve figured out the best and easiest way for everybody (i.e. the one which requires me to do the least work).

The answer is this: Join Flickr!!!

This is a service where you can join for free and easily upload your pictures from PC or Mac. I’ve set up a usergroup for us which can be viewed here. I’ve uploaded a few pics from my personal Flickr photostream to the group as a start (mostly the ones that have already appeared on this site), now please participate.

The photos from our group are publicly visible so anyone can look at our pictures. However, to join the group you must be invited so please join up at Flickr.com and then email me your username at the Site Admin address and I’ll invite you.

For those technophobes among you, it is dead easy to upload your pics to Flickr and get them automatically resized for the screen etc. When I have a minute I’ll add the instructions to the How To… page. Edit: There are abundant instructions on the site to help you along.

As a thankyou to those who have joined up to the site already, I’ve emailed you invites to the group already. Anyone else who signs up here will be invited too.

Ciao for now,
Bryan

Caveat: At the moment, the link to our Group page isn’t showing the photos I’ve included. Apparently it takes a day or so for a new membership to be approved. If it doesn’t work for you at first go, please try again later or try searching “by Tag” for “ratpackontour2005″.

I’ve posted all the available Digs Lists for the UK dates on the site. In order to protect the privacy of those offering Digs, Tour members are required to Register and be confirmed as members before they can access the Digs List page.

Update: The Tour Schedule is now also posted. You’ll find it amongst the “Pages” to your right.

How To Register

  1. Click the “Register” link in the “Meta” menu to your right.
  2. Fill in your preferred Username and Email Address and Submit.
  3. Check your email - your password will be automatically emailed to you (This DOES now work!!)
  4. Login to the site - “Login” link next to the “Register” link.
  5. Once logged in, please fill in your details in the user info. form that appears. Please fill in your full name rather than any online alias you may use so I know who you are!

Once you’ve logged in for the first time, I will receive a confirmation email about your Registration. Once I’ve confirmed (namecheck etc) that you’re a Tour member, I’ll upgrade your membership so you can write posts and upload photos etc. You’ll then be able to get at any restricted site content such as the Digs Lists.

I’m online most days so this shouldn’t ever take more than 24 hours.

I hope that’s clearer than mud….

Update: This first “How To…” has spawned a whole page of them. As ever, you’ll find it in the menu to your right.
